Senior Purchasing Specialist

About the role

MR.DIY is seeking a Senior Purchasing Specialist to lead sourcing and supplier management for its retail product range, with a focus on stationery and kitchenware categories. The role involves driving cost‑effective procurement, supporting store and warehouse needs, and collaborating with global teams to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality items.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new local suppliers and manufacturers.
• Attend trade fairs to monitor trends and discover new products.
• Analyse sales data to evaluate product performance and adjust assortments.
• Prepare product proposals and conduct price comparisons through market surveys to meet SKU targets.
• Coordinate with suppliers and global teams from product selection through delivery.
• Support stores and warehouses with local purchasing requirements.
• Maintain regular communication with the global purchasing team and participate in scheduled meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics or Administrative Sciences (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in a retail environment.
• Experience in stationery and kitchenware categories is highly desirable.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Self‑disciplined, quick learner, and comfortable working in a team.
• Willingness to travel for supplier visits.
