Software Engineer

About the role

Spyke Games is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Istanbul engineering team. You will design, build and maintain high‑traffic backend services that power live mobile games, working with distributed systems, high‑concurrency APIs and real‑time data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate backend game services on AWS using Java and Spring Boot.
• Architect and evolve micro‑services handling real‑time game state, player data and live operations.
• Implement and optimise asynchronous messaging and event‑driven pipelines (e.g., Apache Kafka).
• Ensure performance, reliability and scalability under high concurrency.
• Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Monitor, debug and resolve production incidents to maintain system stability.
• Collaborate with product managers, game designers and developers in an agile environment.

Required profile

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Proven ability to build production‑grade micro‑services and distributed systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort working in a fast‑paced gaming environment.
• Fluent English for technical communication.
