Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

A partner company is looking for a Staff Platform Engineer based in Turkey. The role shapes the infrastructure and developer experience of a growing engineering organization, leading initiatives in continuous delivery, cloud infrastructure, automation and developer productivity. It combines hands-on technical work with strategic leadership, with distributed teams and direct influence on architectural decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead platform initiatives starting with Continuous Delivery, from design and architecture reviews through implementation, deployment and improvement.
• Improve developer productivity by strengthening CI reliability, optimizing merge workflows, automating deployments and improving local development environments.
• Drive architectural decisions, prepare technical proposals and lead design reviews.
• Own and evolve cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, developer environments, observability and operational tooling.
• Build developer infrastructure through automation, self-service tooling and reusable abstractions, supporting increasingly autonomous AI agents.
• Optimize testing infrastructure and deployment workflows, and strengthen production reliability with monitoring, alerting and incident response.
• Share production support and on-call coverage with Platform and Engineering teams during Americas business hours.
• Lead infrastructure standards, architecture governance, technical documentation and reliability practices, and mentor peers.

Required profile

• Staff Engineer or equivalent level of software engineering experience, with a track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives as a hands-on individual contributor.
• Strong technical leadership, including influencing architectural decisions and collaborating with engineering leadership on technical standards.
• Proven expertise in production cloud infrastructure, particularly on AWS (ECS/Fargate, RDS or equivalent).
• Experience building self-service tools, developer environments and internal platforms, and designing infrastructure for AI-driven workflows.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across distributed teams, with a proactive, hands-on approach.

Required skills

• Containerization and Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform or Terragrunt.
• CI/CD pipeline improvement and testing infrastructure.
• Observability with Datadog or equivalent.
• Troubleshooting and incident management.
