System Administrator – Grid Software Solutions

About the role

The System Administrator will support Siemens Grid Software projects by designing, implementing and maintaining complex IT infrastructures that enable energy automation and smart‑grid solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install, configure and document LAN/WAN, router, switch, firewall and security services for corporate and customer networks.
• Maintain and operate internal and external servers, virtualization platforms (Red Hat KVM, OpenShift, VMware, Proxmox) and Oracle Database instances.
• Perform system upgrades, patching, migration and ensure high availability, performance and security compliance.
• Monitor software licensing, version control tools (Git, Subversion) and produce technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software incidents, run diagnostics and record resolutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical‑Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a System or Network Administrator in an enterprise environment.
• Strong problem‑solving aptitude and ability to work independently or within a cross‑functional team.

Required skills

• Linux, Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Virtualization technologies: Red Hat KVM, OpenShift, VMware, Proxmox.
• Network design and implementation: routers, switches, firewalls, MPLS, DMVPN.
• Security hardening, cybersecurity best practices.
• Version control systems: Git, Subversion.
• Shell scripting (Bash/Ksh) and basic programming (Java or Python).
• Oracle Database administration (preferred).
