Tax Corporate Lawyer

About the role

EY Türkiye is looking for an Assistant to join its Tax Corporate Law Department in Istanbul. This junior position will support clients with corporate legal and governance matters and contribute to various restructuring and M&A projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with day‑to‑day corporate legal and governance matters.
• Support company incorporation, branch and liaison office establishment, liquidation, restructuring and other corporate reorganization projects.
• Prepare and review corporate documentation such as board resolutions, shareholders' resolutions, powers of attorney and signature circulars.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and legal correspondence.
• Conduct legal due‑diligence reviews and contribute to reports for mergers, acquisitions, investments and restructuring projects.
• Perform legal research and prepare memoranda, legal opinions, summaries and client presentations.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on clients' businesses.
• Coordinate with clients, public authorities, trade registry offices, notaries and other stakeholders.
• Assist in compliance and regulatory projects across different industries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law from a reputable Turkish or equivalent foreign university.
• Admission to a Turkish Bar Association and completion of the mandatory legal internship.
• Up to 2 years of post‑qualification experience in a law firm, consultancy or in‑house legal department.
• Basic knowledge of Turkish corporate and commercial law and related regulatory frameworks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Turkish and English.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, high attention to detail and professional ethics.
