Technical Market & Services Lab Assistant

About the role

The Technical Market & Services Lab Assistant supports the laboratory team in formulating and testing paints and construction materials. You will work on customer‑driven projects, ensuring high‑quality results while maintaining a safe and efficient lab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory work including formulation and application testing of paints and construction materials.
• Develop new ideas and formulations to meet specific customer requirements.
• Prioritize work packages with the laboratory manager and deliver results on schedule.
• Document test results accurately in Excel.
• Order raw materials and consumables to keep laboratory operations running smoothly.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory, complying with occupational safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to optimise workflows and identify synergies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an application laboratory, preferably in the paint industry.
• Fluent English and strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive ownership of tasks and ability to overcome obstacles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Laboratory formulation and testing techniques for paints and construction materials.
• Accurate documentation and data handling in Excel.
• Ability to order and manage laboratory supplies.
• Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental compliance in a lab setting.
