Temporary Senior General Ledger and Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Fixed-Term (Temporary) Senior General Ledger and Tax Accountant for an 11‑month assignment covering maternity leave at our factory in the Gaziemir Free Zone, Turkey. The role involves accurate recording of financial transactions, timely reporting, and supporting the GL team, Accounting Manager and Finance Director on accounting and taxation matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all Turkish tax compliance processes, including monthly, quarterly and annual filings.
• Post payroll accounting entries and coordinate tax declaration submissions (VAT, withholding, corporate tax, etc.).
• Review e‑Tax Returns prepared by EY and ensure accurate, timely submissions.
• Complete accounting entries related to tax and payroll in both US GAAP and local GAAP ledgers.
• Handle e‑Ledger processes, monitor tax deadlines, and follow up on authority communications and inspections.
• Prepare documentation for tax audits and coordinate with external advisors and auditors.
• Monitor changes in Turkish tax legislation and assess impact on the company.
• Perform tax‑related accounting reconciliations under SOX controls and local GAAP audits.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years experience as a Tax Accountant or in a Big 4 firm with tax background.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, SOX compliance and Turkish accounting principles.
• Understanding of IFRS reporting and internal controls.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Turkish.
