Test Engineer – Medium Voltage Switchgear

About the role

ABB is looking for a Test Engineer specialized in medium‑voltage (MV) switchgear. You will ensure that products and systems meet safety, quality and performance requirements by applying test protocols and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement inspection plans, coordinate with responsible parties and complete testing on schedule.
• Support project managers to execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) that satisfy customer specifications.
• Maintain accurate test records, defect descriptions and update the test‑report database.
• Prepare and continuously improve test work instructions in line with IEC 62271‑200.
• Enhance testing processes, tools and equipment to boost efficiency and product quality.
• Provide technical support for test facilities, maintain measuring equipment and participate in quality‑improvement activities.
• Collaborate with customers on complaints, investigate root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure safe operation of testing tools, conduct site observations and uphold 6S standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in MV switchgear testing or a similar role.
• Site installation and commissioning experience is a plus.
• Strong written and spoken English; Turkish language skills are advantageous.
• Good communication, teamwork and a strong sense of ownership and quality.
• Proficiency with MS Office; basic SAP knowledge is a benefit.
