Tour Leader - Turkey

About the role

Intrepid Travel is looking for Tour Leaders to run trips through Turkey and beyond. This is a freelance contract position offering flexibility in when and how you work, though availability during peak seasons (April-May and September-October) is essential. Recruitment runs from October to the end of January, with training starting from mid-February to March.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer experiences, such as leading a morning market walk, arranging a local craft workshop or hosting a home-cooked meal with a family.
• Prioritise the safety and wellbeing of the group, handling challenges calmly and professionally, from lost passports and medical needs to group dynamics.
• Lead and manage trips in line with itineraries and budgets, completing all required trip administration accurately and on time.
• Live the company values: be real in your connections, ambitious in creating experiences, work together with your team and local partners, and make every journey impactful for travellers and the communities visited.

Required profile

• Excellent communication in English and Turkish (the more the better).
• Strong customer service experience and experience building rapport with a wide range of travellers.
• Travel experience across Turkey and a passion for sharing the region with travellers.
• Full right to work in Turkey.
• A valid first-aid certificate before starting; the company provides the exam and certification if needed.
• Ability to travel extensively, sometimes for up to four weeks, and to handle long hours, lots of walking and activities.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills, including email, word processing and Excel.
