Trialing and Product Placement Lead

About the role

Syngenta’s Seeds Development Team in Antalya is looking for a leader to drive late‑stage vegetable product trialing and placement. The role ensures high‑quality product characterisation and supports portfolio advancement across crops and market segments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end execution of R&D trials for experimental seed varieties/hybrids, from sowing to harvest.
• Oversee product characterisation aligned with the Target Product Profile (TPP) and guide placement scientists in product advancement.
• Elevate trial teams’ skillsets on new phenotyping technologies and digital tools to improve data accuracy and collection efficiency.
• Manage operational planning, budgeting, and resource allocation across the commercial region.
• Scout and manage third‑party contracts to secure optimal trial locations and ensure HSE compliance.

Required profile

• PhD or MS in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Breeding or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the seed industry after PhD (or 7+ years after MSc).
• Extensive experience in commercial breeding, product development and characterisation.
• Proven people leadership and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Fluency in English (C1‑C3) – verbal and written.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with phenotyping technologies and digital data‑collection tools.
• Knowledge of seed research equipment for mechanical planting and automated harvest.
