Turkey Commercial IT Director (Head of IT)

About the role

The Turkey Commercial IT Director (Head of IT) is the senior country IT leader and single point of contact for all IT‑related matters to the local business. The role translates global and regional strategies into market execution, driving technology transformation, AI adoption and operational excellence to enable commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Turkey Commercial IT strategy, roadmap and investment agenda as part of the Country Senior Leadership Team.
• Establish product and platform ownership, manage lifecycle, prioritisation and adoption across commercial platforms.
• Drive speed, agility and simplification, removing duplication and focusing on high‑value priorities.
• Translate business goals into technology initiatives delivering measurable outcomes in revenue, productivity and cost optimisation.
• Accelerate responsible AI, automation and data‑enabled use cases while ensuring governance, privacy and security.
• Promote forward‑deployed engineering, reusable APIs and integration patterns for scalable solutions.
• Strengthen service management, observability, AIOps and incident response to improve reliability and business continuity.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity and audit requirements.
• Build and develop a high‑performing Turkey IT team, fostering AI, data literacy and delivery excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM; MBA or postgraduate qualification desirable.
• 12+ years progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in senior leadership within a multinational, preferably regulated industry.
• Proven product/platform leadership and lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of AI, automation, analytics and responsible adoption.
• Experience delivering large‑scale programs with agile methods and managing ambiguity.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture, cloud governance, integration patterns and API‑led delivery.
• Familiarity with ITIL, service management, AIOps and observability practices.
• Expertise in data privacy, cybersecurity, identity management and audit readiness.
• Executive presence with strong influencing and communication skills.
• People leadership experience in complex, matrixed environments.
• Financial acumen for budgeting, vendor management and benefits tracking.
• Fluency in English and Turkish.
