Accounting Responsible

About the role

Itameks, a leading European manufacturer of automotive interior floor components, is looking for an Accounting Responsible to join its finance team in Istanbul. The role will manage purchase, sales, return and other transaction accounting, ensure compliance with Turkish regulations and IFRS, and support the monthly and annual financial closing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and account for purchase, sales, return, price difference, import and export transactions.
• Monitor customer and supplier accounts, perform reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Review and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts.
• Participate actively in monthly and annual financial closing.
• Prepare and post adjustment, reclassification, provision, accrual and valuation entries in line with IFRS and Turkish accounting standards.
• Support VAT returns, VAT refund processes and other statutory reporting.
• Review fixed‑asset and depreciation records, as well as import cost accounting.
• Analyze and resolve outstanding accounts, abnormal balances and period‑end reconciliation differences.
• Assist independent audit, certified public accountant and internal audit activities.
• Contribute to internal control implementation and segregation of duties.
• Improve use of Logo ERP and e‑Flow processes, proposing automation and digitalisation initiatives.
• Monitor accounting‑related KPIs and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Finance or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in general accounting.
• Good knowledge of the Turkish Uniform Chart of Accounts and basic tax legislation.
• Experience in monthly closing and account reconciliation processes.
• Basic understanding of IFRS or willingness to develop expertise.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel and interest in data analysis.
• Preferably experienced with Logo ERP.
• Proactive, analytical, detail‑oriented and able to work within a team.
