Android Developer (Mid to Senior) – Remote

About the role

You will be working for one of Mobilist's customers, a licensed horse racing betting company, as an Android Developer. If you want to work in a company where you are proud of the product you build, we are looking for teammates like you to further our ambitious goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features for the existing Android application, either individually or as part of a team.
• Fix bugs and improve existing functionality in the Android app.
• Participate in daily stand‑ups and sprint planning meetings to align on tasks.
• Collaborate with QA and analysis teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and met.

Required profile

• B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS or a related technical field.
• At least 4 years of professional Android development experience.
• Comfortable integrating AI tools such as prompt‑based development and coding assistants into daily workflow.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin; Java experience is not required.
• Hands‑on experience with Jetpack Compose or Android Views.
• Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles and Android architectural patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
• Proficiency with Android lifecycle, memory management and background processing.
• Experience with Kotlin Coroutines, Flow and asynchronous programming.
• Ability to integrate RESTful APIs and work with JSON services.
• Familiarity with common Android libraries (Jetpack, Retrofit, Room, Hilt/Dagger).
• Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Knowledge of unit testing and testable architecture.
• Experience in Agile environments and tools such as Jira and Slack.
