Assistant Laundry Manager

About the role

The Assistant Laundry Manager supports the daily operations of the hotel’s laundry department, ensuring that uniforms, linens, and other textiles are clean, well‑maintained, and available for all hotel areas. Reporting to the Laundry Manager, this role combines inventory control, equipment oversight, and staff training within a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete inventory of uniforms and linens and conduct monthly inventory of laundry supplies.
• Report faulty equipment, maintenance needs, and safety hazards to supervisors.
• Train employees on laundry procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
• Verify that laundry requests from all hotel departments are fulfilled on time.
• Operate and monitor washing, dry‑cleaning, and drying machinery, inspecting linens for damage.
• Assist management with hiring, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and motivating staff.
• Follow company safety, security, and confidentiality policies; complete required safety training.
• Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost‑savings.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related laundry or housekeeping experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift and move items up to 25 lb without assistance.
• Comfort working in narrow, elevated, or slippery areas and navigating stairs or ramps.
