Assistant Professor in International Relations

About the role

Özyeğin University seeks a dynamic Assistant Professor in International Relations to join its Faculty of Social Sciences. The position is full‑time and focuses on both teaching and high‑impact research within a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver innovative undergraduate and graduate courses in International Relations and related areas.
• Conduct high‑quality research leading to publications in top‑tier academic journals.
• Supervise graduate students and contribute to the department’s academic program development.
• Collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary research projects and initiatives.
• Prepare and submit grant proposals to agencies such as TUBITAK, Horizon Europe, and ERC.
• Participate in university service, professional organizations, and the broader academic community.

Required profile

• PhD in International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Economics, area studies, or a closely related discipline, obtained within the last three years.
• Demonstrated research potential, with at least two publications in Q1/Q2 WoS‑indexed journals.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, ideally with experience in qualitative, quantitative, or computational research methodology.
• Interdisciplinary research experience and collaborations are highly desirable.
• Prior experience with large research grants (e.g., TUBITAK‑1001, Horizon Europe) is a plus.
