Banquet Sales Manager

About the role

The Banquet Sales Manager will drive revenue and manage business opportunities across weddings, social events, corporate meetings, conferences, and banquets for Sofitel Istanbul Taksim. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the role ensures each event is professionally handled from inquiry to hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively develop and manage banquet, wedding, social event, corporate meeting and conference business, identifying new opportunities and building relationships with corporate clients, event agencies, wedding planners and associations.
• Handle incoming event inquiries, conduct site inspections, client meetings and presentations, prepare proposals, quotations, contracts and negotiate rates while protecting profitability.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline, achieve and exceed assigned banquet and event sales targets, and monitor market trends and competitor activities in Istanbul.
• Collaborate with Revenue, Reservations, F&B, Banquet Operations, Culinary, Finance and Front Office teams to ensure seamless event execution and accurate communication of requirements.

Required profile

• University degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, Sales & Marketing or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in hotel banquet, event, catering or MICE sales, preferably in an international luxury hotel.
• Strong knowledge of the Istanbul corporate, wedding, event and MICE markets with proven ability to generate new business.
• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship‑management capabilities in both Turkish and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with hotel sales or event management systems.
