Blow Molding Engineer

About the role

Greif, a global leader in performance packaging, is seeking an experienced Blow Molding Engineer to join its production team in Dilovası, Turkey. The role focuses on operating, optimizing, and troubleshooting extrusion blow molding machines to meet production targets and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion blow molding machines, handling start‑ups, shutdowns, mould changes and product changeovers safely and efficiently.
• Analyze process performance, adjust machine parameters, and optimize cycle time, product quality, scrap rates and overall equipment efficiency.
• Identify root causes of quality defects and equipment failures, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Support processing of HDPE and specialized polymer materials, providing hands‑on technical assistance to operators.
• Perform product quality checks, ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, TPM and 5S.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams on new mould validation, equipment qualification, process validation and production start‑up activities.

Required profile

• Technical High School or Vocational School diploma, preferably with additional training in plastics processing.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in blow molding operations, including mould changes and product changeovers.
• Experience processing HDPE and other specialized polymer compounds.
• Proven ability to support preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of blow molding processes, machinery, moulds and auxiliary equipment.
• Understanding of extrusion and blow molding process variables and their impact on product quality.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Familiarity with quality systems, process controls and manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, cycle time and scrap.
