Building Technician

About the role

As a CBRE Building Technician, you will be responsible for executing all construction, structural repairs, and fit‑out processes within the facility in accordance with corporate standards. Your primary focus is to maintain the structural integrity of the building, perform aesthetic and functional improvements, and supervise subcontractor activities to ensure a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Periodically inspect and perform necessary repairs on general construction elements such as paint, drywall, flooring, suspended ceilings, ceramics, and door/window hardware.
• Provide technical support and monitor implementation phases for new office layouts, renovations, and modification projects.
• Supervise subcontractors' construction and decoration works to ensure compliance with CBRE standards and occupational safety regulations.
• Review work orders to determine material requirements and provide cost and time estimates.
• Monitor the condition of the building façade, roofing systems, and insulation, taking proactive measures against potential leaks or damage.
• Report health and safety hazards that arise during construction and renovation activities and implement risk‑minimising actions.
• Manage material inventory and track ordering processes for consumables required for construction projects and routine maintenance.
• Coordinate with the workplace management team to plan construction works that may affect occupants, minimizing operational disruption.
• Inspect the quality of completed works and produce reports aligned with operational excellence goals.

Required profile

• At least a middle school graduate, preferably in Construction Technology, Building Works, or related fields.
• 3–5 years of experience in construction maintenance, repair, or site applications.
• Ability to read and interpret construction technical drawings and project documentation.
• Technical knowledge and manual dexterity for fine construction tasks such as painting, renovation, and handling furniture components.
• Physical capability to climb ladders, lift heavy loads, and work in confined spaces.
• Solution‑oriented, detail‑oriented character with meticulous work discipline.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) rules and construction regulations.
• Strong teamwork and effective verbal communication abilities.
