Capex Project Leader

About the role

Saint-Gobain is seeking a Capex Project Leader to drive the safe delivery of production line and equipment packages for major capital investment projects, covering feasibility, design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead assigned production line and equipment packages through all project phases from feasibility to handover.
• Prepare and review feasibility studies, technical specifications, scope definitions and budget estimates.
• Coordinate technical procurement activities, including supplier clarifications, bid evaluations and design reviews.
• Manage project schedules, costs, risks and interfaces, escalating significant deviations.
• Prioritise health and safety, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
• Review technical solutions, 2D/3D layouts, equipment drawings and P&IDs for safety and performance.
• Coordinate FAT, SAT, installation, commissioning, start‑up and performance acceptance.
• Maintain accurate project reporting, document control and ensure effective handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial project engineering experience in continuous automated industries.
• Hands‑on experience in equipment installation, commissioning, start‑up and troubleshooting.
• Professional working proficiency in English and willingness to travel internationally.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Project or similar planning tools.
• Ability to review and annotate 2D/3D layouts, equipment drawings and P&IDs.
• Working knowledge of machinery safety, risk assessment and interface management.
