Communications Analyst for Regional Office

About the role

The Communications Analyst supports the Regional Communications Specialist in planning and implementing UN Women’s communications and advocacy strategies across Europe and Central Asia, enhancing visibility and impact of gender‑equality work.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and executing regional communication and outreach plans, including needs assessments and strategy integration.
• Monitor print and social media, draft analytical reports, and coordinate regional campaigns and special events.
• Develop and disseminate advocacy materials, briefing notes, press releases, and quarterly newsletters.
• Maintain and update the regional office’s website and social‑media channels, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines.
• Provide guidance to country offices, manage translation/adaptation of content, and support media‑relations activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum two years of professional experience in public relations, communications or advocacy, with a focus on media relations and social‑media outreach.
• Fluency in English and Turkish; additional UN language is a plus.
• Strong understanding of gender and human‑rights issues and ability to apply a gender perspective to communications.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and other office software.
• Experience using web‑based knowledge‑management and content‑management systems.
• Knowledge of social‑media platforms and best practices for outreach.
• Familiarity with modern web‑based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud.
• Ability to manage translation, adaptation and production of multimedia content.
