Cook I‑Sushi

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Cook I‑Sushi to join our kitchen team at a prestigious Marriott International property in Istanbul. The role involves preparing high‑quality sushi and other menu items while maintaining strict food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen logs to ensure compliance with food safety programs.
• Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and food, and manage inventory.
• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, store, and thaw foods as needed.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and personal judgment.
• Cook and present dishes following quality, presentation, and checklist standards.
• Set up and break down work stations, and ensure proper portion control.
• Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching.
• Follow all company safety, security, and appearance policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 3 years of relevant kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and stooping.

Required skills

• Food safety program compliance.
• Ingredient preparation and portion control.
• Operation of standard kitchen equipment.
