Credit Analyst - Private Credit & Trade Finance

About the role

Crescent Trade Finance, a boutique financial engineering firm focused on private credit and structured trade finance in emerging markets, is hiring a full-time, on-site Credit Analyst in Istanbul and/or Doha, with extensive travel to Turkey. The analyst supports the evaluation and structuring of private credit and trade finance transactions, working closely with originators and traders.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze the creditworthiness of counterparties and assess their financial statements
• Review collateral structures and prepare detailed credit memos and risk assessments for investment and lending decisions
• Monitor existing exposures, track market and counterparty developments, and update internal risk ratings and reporting
• Support transaction structuring and due diligence, and ensure compliance with internal risk policies and regulatory requirements
• Contribute to portfolio analytics, maintain accurate documentation and give recommendations to senior management

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant credit-analysis experience
• Background in a bank, financial institution, private-credit fund, trade-finance platform or similar
• Strong knowledge of Turkish GAAP, financial-statement analysis and core credit metrics (leverage, liquidity, debt-service coverage, EBITDA quality, cash conversion, working capital)
• Knowledge of trade finance structures, emerging markets, secured and unsecured lending and basic corporate banking products
• Excellent written and verbal English; Turkish is highly beneficial
• Ability to work on-site in Istanbul and/or Doha, manage several transactions in a fast pace and work in a diverse team
• Attention to detail, sound judgment and ethical conduct; MENA-region counterparties experience is an advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools
• Familiarity with financial databases and risk management systems is an advantage
• A CFA, FRM, CPA, ACCA or similar qualification is beneficial but not mandatory
