Data Engineer

About the role

iyzico's Data Platform team is looking for a Data Engineer to build and operate large‑scale batch and streaming pipelines for one of Turkey's biggest payment platforms. You will work on a distributed PostgreSQL warehouse, real‑time CDC pipelines, and an in‑house LLM platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Write and optimise SQL queries against a large‑scale distributed PostgreSQL (Citus) warehouse.
• Implement data models, ETL/ELT processes and orchestrate workflows with Apache Airflow.
• Build real‑time data flows using Kafka and CDC tools such as Debezium.
• Ensure data quality, governance and observability through monitoring and alerting.
• Investigate and resolve pipeline issues, delivering durable fixes.
• Contribute to the in‑house LLM platform for natural‑language‑to‑SQL and analytics automation.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with query optimisation.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, data modelling and ETL/ELT design.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
• Comfortable working in a Linux/CLI environment and using Git for version control.
• Problem‑solver who can take ownership from investigation to production.
