Data Scientist

About the role

Medtec Information Technologies, part of the MSC Group, is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Istanbul (Ümraniye) office. You will help improve business processes and project management in the logistics sector by building robust data pipelines and delivering actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Apache Airflow.
• Perform data wrangling to clean and structure datasets for analysis and reporting.
• Query, manipulate, and store data in MSSQL and MongoDB environments.
• Automate extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tasks.
• Create reports, visualisations, and dashboards for business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement and optimise data solutions.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency of data workflows.
• Containerise applications with Docker and support Linux‑based systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in a data science or data engineering role.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn).
• Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
• MSSQL (SQL queries, stored procedures) and MongoDB (NoSQL queries, aggregation).
• Docker for containerisation.
• Linux environment for data processing.
• Version control with Git.
• Data visualisation tools such as PowerBI, matplotlib, and seaborn.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
