Design Engineer – Mechanical Development

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer to lead the end‑to‑end development of complex mechanical components and assemblies for series production. You will work within Bosch’s global engineering team, turning innovative concepts into robust, manufacturable products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design from concept through series production, including 3D modeling, tolerance stack‑ups and advanced calculations (stress, thermal, durability).
• Own lifecycle management of designs, covering requirements, prototyping, validation, production launch and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with suppliers on feasibility studies, design validation and technical alignment.
• Apply quality and risk management tools such as DFMEA, DRBFM, 8D and FTA to ensure design robustness.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, specifications, special characteristics and justification reports.
• Provide design leadership, guiding cross‑functional stakeholders and inspiring team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing parts and assemblies for series production, preferably in HVAC.
• Strong analytical mindset with proven critical‑thinking and design‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

• GD&T, material selection and tolerance analysis.
• Modern manufacturing methods: plastics, die casting, machining, sealing technologies.
• CAD/PLM systems: UG NX, Teamcenter, SAP.
• CAE tools: FEA, CFD.
• Quality and risk tools: DFMEA, DRBFM, 8D, FTA.
