Director of Engineering

About the role

As the Director of Engineering at Shangri‑La Bosphorus, you will lead the engineering team of a luxury 5‑star hotel situated on the Bosphorus. You will ensure that all building systems, fixtures and equipment operate smoothly, safely and efficiently, supporting the hotel’s commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repair of all hotel buildings, fixtures, fittings and equipment.
• Develop and implement ideas to improve the hotel’s profitability through engineering efficiencies.
• Ensure continuous, efficient operation of all engineering equipment.
• Manage the engineering department’s budget and control expenditure on maintenance and projects.
• Maintain high standards and ensure facilities comply with local regulations.

Required profile

• Passion for engineering and hospitality operations.
• Degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
• Relevant experience with an international hotel group.
• Fluent written and spoken English and the local language.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and motivational skills.
• Self‑driven, goal‑oriented and able to challenge the status‑quo.
• Upholds professional values, ethics and integrity at all times.
