Director, Safety – Eurasia & Middle East

About the role

The Director, Safety provides enterprise‑level leadership for the safety agenda across the Europe and Middle East Operating Unit. As a member of the QSE & Sustainability Leadership Team, this role shapes strategy, governance and performance to protect people and embed a prevention‑led culture.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the EME Safety strategy, roadmap and annual operating plan, translating global direction into measurable outcomes.
• Lead risk‑based governance, assurance and compliance with applicable law, KORE and occupational health and safety management‑system expectations.
• Provide strategic and technical leadership for critical‑risk management, serious incident prevention, emergency preparedness and organizational learning.
• Establish safety metrics and analytics, maintain visibility of the OU risk profile and ensure leaders act on performance trends.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of progressive experience in occupational safety, QSE, technical operations or supply chain, including leadership in a multi‑country matrix organization.
• Proven success shaping strategy, leading change, influencing senior stakeholders and improving safety performance.
• Strong judgment, learning agility and communication skills with ability to lead diverse networks.

• Safety management systems expertise, ISO 45001.
• Critical‑risk controls, risk‑based assurance and serious incident management.
• Safety analytics and digital safety solutions (advantageous).
