Energy Investment & Business Development Director

About the role

We are looking for an experienced director to lead renewable energy investment and project development across Turkey, Europe, Africa, the CIS and other emerging markets. The role covers the full project lifecycle from origination to operation, as well as strengthening the performance of existing assets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute portfolio growth plans, building a pipeline of greenfield projects, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
• Lead technical, commercial, legal and financial due diligence, prepare investment proposals and secure board approval.
• Negotiate and structure financing, PPAs, offtake agreements and partnership contracts.
• Oversee land acquisition, permitting, grid connection, EPC and construction to achieve financial close and commissioning.
• Monitor portfolio performance, drive profitability, and identify value‑creation opportunities such as capacity expansion or hybridisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field.
• Extensive experience in renewable energy investments, greenfield development, developer partnerships and M&A.
• Proven ability to build relationships with authorities, grid operators, investors and local communities across multiple countries.
• Strong strategic judgement, disciplined process management and leadership of international multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Financial feasibility studies, modeling, valuation and investment return analysis.
• Project finance, debt and equity structuring, and due diligence.
• Knowledge of electricity markets, PPAs, energy trading and storage revenue models.
• Experience managing operating renewable assets and improving O&M performance.
