Engineering Manager, Automation Intelligence

About the role

Lead a high‑impact engineering team to build an intelligence platform that distinguishes legitimate AI agents and automated traffic from malicious bots and online threats. The role spans product delivery from beta through commercial launch, emphasizing detection accuracy, reliability, and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Own the engineering roadmap, partner with product management, and ensure launch‑readiness criteria are met.
• Define service limits, SLOs, and performance targets for throughput, latency, and availability.
• Establish a continuous detection quality framework with test datasets, false‑positive/negative testing, and monitoring.
• Guide detection capabilities for AI agents, headless browsers, and emerging automation frameworks.
• Manage staged rollouts, feature flags, and rollback procedures while incorporating customer feedback.
• Lead, coach, and grow a small team of senior engineers, handling recruitment and professional development.
• Introduce engineering standards, code review processes, and performance benchmarks.
• Drive AI‑native development workflows using coding agents, with human oversight for critical changes.

Required profile

• At least three years of engineering management experience delivering complete products through launch.
• Minimum eight years of software engineering experience with strong technical judgment.
• Domain expertise in bot detection, fraud prevention, web security, or high‑volume API services.
• Proven ability to build measurement‑driven engineering processes and quality frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with AI coding agents and AI‑assisted development workflows.
