Finance Lead

About the role

::labs is an AI media company with an API across 600+ image, video and audio models, used by 20,000+ developers, operating across two countries and several currencies. Its finance function has grown from a small team and many spreadsheets, and it is looking for a hands-on Finance Lead who will own the monthly close, financial statements and management reporting, while working closely with the operations team and the founders.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close, financial statements and management reporting
• Track revenue and cost of goods sold across usage-based billing and model provider costs, and know the gross margin better than anyone
• Prepare investor updates and support budgeting, forecasting and fundraising materials
• Build controls that make an audit feel like a formality
• Work with accountants and legal advisors across entities on tax and compliance
• Replace manual steps with tools and automation wherever possible

Required profile

• Experience running finance or accounting at a startup or SaaS company, ideally one with usage-based revenue
• Comfortable reconciling accounts and explaining margin problems to engineers without jargon
• Experience with multiple entities, currencies or international tax is a big plus
• Able to build systems despite ambiguity; a fully built finance stack is not required
