Financial Controller - 5-Star Hotel

About the role

Kempinski is looking for a Financial Controller to safeguard the hotel's assets and financial resources and make sure they are used to maximise operating results. The role works closely with the executive team so that the hotel runs profitably and within legal and corporate guidelines, while maintaining control over revenues and costs.

Key responsibilities

• Follow and understand all Kempinski policies and procedures and the terms of the Management Agreement.
• Support, mentor and develop the finance staff.
• Develop the annual business plan with the General Manager and Executive Committee.
• Conduct monthly P&L meetings and review and sign monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor and control revenues and expenses, and review the cash position to optimise fund use.
• Prepare and submit an accurate monthly forecast and report, and keep contracts, leases, licences, insurance policies and other legal and financial documents safe.
• Keep good relationships with hotel owners, representatives and external partners, and act on auditor recommendations.
• Look for new business opportunities that benefit the hotel.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field, or CPA/ACA/ACCA or MBA (Finance).
• 3+ years as a financial controller, preferably in a 5-star hotel chain.
• Excellent spoken and written Turkish and English.
• Ability to work independently, handle pressure and build effective working relationships with staff and clients.
• Professional, confidential and ethical approach.

Required skills

• High comfort with Microsoft Office; accounting software experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of GAAP, PCI DSS and local tax and accounting regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of hotel accounting and operations, and experience in reporting, forecasting and budgeting.
