Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

unPLUG Dining is an AI-powered digital growth platform for restaurant brands, connecting ordering, loyalty, marketing and analytics. It is hiring its first dedicated Forward Deployed Engineer in Istanbul, working full-time on a hybrid basis (3 to 4 days in person). The engineer acts as a technical lead for each brand partner, taking their integrations, launches, production issues and requests from first message to resolved in production, and turns field learnings into tooling and product.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure and maintain integrations with POS, ordering, payments, loyalty and marketing partners, and monitor their health with alerts, reconciliation and early fixes of data mismatches.
• Lead brand launches and rollouts end to end, including environment setup, app builds, data migrations, go-live checklists and post-launch hypercare.
• Own the triage queue for production issues across apps, payments, loyalty and data pipelines, using Sentry, CloudWatch, ClickHouse and logs, and build AI-assisted support workflows.
• Act as technical point of contact for brand IT and Marketing teams, scope requests, ship small ones and hand larger ones to product teams.
• Turn repeated work into tooling, templates, runbooks and self-serve features, and feed field insights into the roadmap.

Required profile

• Strong engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience shipping and supporting production systems used by real customers.
• Integration experience: REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, idempotency, retries and data mapping.
• Production debugging: reading logs and traces, writing SQL, finding root causes without a runbook.
• Backend depth in Python, plus enough React or Flutter to work across the stack.
• Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders and ownership through resolution.
• Fluent written and spoken English; brand partners are in the US.
• Nice to have: restaurant tech experience (POS, online ordering, loyalty), payments reconciliation, mobile release operations, AWS and Terraform, and prior FDE or support experience.
