Full Stack Engineer (Technical Lead)

About the role

Ironstone is an AI product startup in Maslak, Istanbul, building a SaaS platform that helps businesses turn their existing assets into finished work quickly, using a pipeline of AI models, automated quality checks and media processing. You will be engineer number one and technical lead, working directly with the founder, writing code and shipping features every day while also setting architecture, standards and the technical direction.

Key responsibilities

• Build the web app with Next.js (App Router), React and TypeScript, using Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui.
• Design the data model and APIs on Supabase (Postgres, Auth, row-level security, Realtime) with Drizzle.
• Build durable background workflows on AWS (Step Functions, Lambda, SQS) that orchestrate AI models, with retries, queues and webhooks.
• Integrate language, image and video models behind a clean provider layer so models can be swapped without changing the product.
• Build automated quality gates that score generated images and video before users see them.
• Handle video and image finishing (rendering, captions, resizing) and delivery through S3 and CloudFront.
• Implement usage-based billing on an auditable, append-only credit ledger.
• Set up CI/CD, preview environments, infrastructure as code (AWS CDK), monitoring (Sentry) and product analytics (PostHog).
• Plan architecture and tooling with the founder, document decisions, plan sprints, review code and keep delivery on track.

Required profile

• 3+ years building production web applications, owning the architecture of at least one system built on background jobs or workflows.
• Strong TypeScript, React and Next.js, and solid Postgres and API design (schemas, migrations, auth and access control).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud or another major cloud platform.
• Comfortable debugging distributed systems such as stuck workflows, failed webhooks and backed-up queues.
• Experience shipping AI features to real users and knowing where they break.
• Daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor or similar) and proven leadership, code reviews or mentoring.
• Good written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Supabase, AWS Step Functions or other workflow engines.
• Programmatic video and image processing (FFmpeg, Remotion, HyperFrames).
• Generative image or video models in production, LLM evaluation and prompt engineering.
• MCP servers, OAuth 2.1, payments and subscriptions (Paddle, Stripe).
