Head of Diagnostics

About the role

AstraZeneca is looking for a Head of Diagnostics in Istanbul to play a key leadership role in shaping and driving its diagnostics strategy. You will work across Medical Affairs and cross-functional teams to strengthen the role of diagnostics within the patient journey, combining scientific expertise, strategic thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset to address unmet medical needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate diagnostics strategy and related Medical Affairs activities, aligned with company strategy, scientific standards and regulations.
• Provide scientific and medical leadership on diagnostics-related literature, studies and emerging evidence.
• Oversee diagnostics-related field medical activities, including planning, execution and reporting.
• Ensure the scientific accuracy, quality and compliance of promotional and non-promotional materials within delegated authority.
• Lead the development and delivery of diagnostics training for Medical and field teams, and develop scientific and training materials.
• Coordinate diagnostics-related Advisory Boards and scientific engagements in line with SOPs and compliance requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on approval, reimbursement and regulatory activities, and ensure accuracy of diagnostics content in patient materials and product information.
• Establish and improve Medical Affairs tools and resources, and manage diagnostics scorecards and dashboards.
• Contribute to regional, international and global diagnostics projects and align diagnostics across therapeutic areas.

Required profile

• University degree from a Medical Faculty.
• Minimum 5 years of Medical Affairs experience, including at least 2 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
• No restrictions on frequent travel and a valid driving licence; based in Istanbul.
• Desirable: previous managerial or people leadership experience, and experience in Oncology, Hematology, Diagnostics or Precision Medicine.
