Head of Tax (Turkey)

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Tax for Turkey who will own the full tax agenda, combining strategic leadership with hands‑on expertise. The role will act as the trusted advisor on direct and indirect tax matters, driving compliance, governance and business‑focused tax solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the national tax strategy, ensuring end‑to‑end compliance and governance.
• Provide tax advisory to business leaders on cross‑border structures, transactions, restructurings, new models and M&A.
• Oversee timely preparation and filing of all local tax returns, provisions and close processes under IFRS and local GAAP.
• Lead the digital transformation of the tax function by leveraging SAP, e‑invoicing, automation tools and data‑driven dashboards.
• Manage local tax team, coordinate shared services and external advisors, and represent tax in stakeholder discussions.
• Handle tax audits and interactions with tax authorities, ensuring effective risk management.

Required profile

• Degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance or Law; professional certification preferred.
• 8‑12+ years of experience in a multinational corporation or Big 4 environment.
• Strong expertise in both direct and indirect taxes, including international aspects.
• Proven experience with IFRS tax reporting, provisioning and SAP‑related tax processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead in a matrix organization and mentor junior staff.
