Kitchen Staff

About the role

Prepare breakfast and/or lunch offerings, assist with serving lines, and participate in occasional catering functions. Perform all positions within the kitchen for Opaa! Food Management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with set‑up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at required temperatures.
• Prepare foods according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes, including baking breads, cakes, and cookies.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders and other kitchen equipment with proper certification.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow FIFO inventory procedures.
• Clean kitchen, cafeteria areas, equipment and dishes, and monitor chemical usage.
• Record temperatures, complete food safety logs and follow HACCP processes.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; ability to read simple instructions and perform basic math.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lb regularly and occasionally exert over 60 lb of force.
• Commitment to follow safety rules, HACCP guidelines and Opaa!’s core values.

Required skills

• Operating slicers, mixers, grinders and other kitchen machinery.
• Using dishwasher, steamer/kettle, oven, stove, fryers and related kitchen equipment.
• Utilizing thermometers, gauges and meal counting software for food safety and inventory.
• Basic computer skills with desktop PCs and related office equipment.
