Laboratory Supervisor - Mineral Oil and Petrochemical Analysis

About the role

Core Laboratories is looking for a Laboratory Supervisor who will coordinate and prioritise the work of a team of Chemists and Laboratory Technicians and carry out more complex and advanced laboratory tests on mineral oil and petrochemical fluids. The supervisor determines the chemical or physical characteristics required by the client or specification and is responsible for the reliability, quality and development of all laboratory analysis at the site. For small- to medium-sized locations, the supervisor may also take responsibility for all laboratory operations, including human, technical and financial resources.

Key responsibilities

• Apply analysis and technical standards such as UOP, IP, GOST and others, and set up, adjust, maintain and operate laboratory equipment, quality systems and safety programmes
• Train laboratory staff in correct testing, quality and safety practices in line with local standards, company policy and good laboratory practice
• Supervise a team of Chemists and Laboratory Technicians, including training, development and performance reviews where required
• Prioritise laboratory work to meet client deadlines and supervise specialised analysis of chemical and physical characteristics
• Monitor instrument calibration and ensure staff are trained and qualified to calibrate instruments and keep calibration records

Required profile

• Minimum university degree
• At least 7 years of chemistry or laboratory experience
• Highly experienced in mineral oil and petrochemical analysis
• Good spoken and written Turkish and English
• Valid driving licence and satisfactory driving record

• Advanced computer skills (MS Windows, Word, Excel, company systems)
