Lead Android Engineer (EMEA Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior/Lead Android Engineer with a staff‑level mindset to design and evolve high‑performance Android applications that interact with a decentralized cloud platform. The role is fully remote within EMEA time zones and requires strong architectural judgment and ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑performance Android apps using Kotlin, following modern design principles.
• Architect scalable, maintainable mobile solutions with emphasis on performance, memory, and battery efficiency.
• Integrate apps with backend services and distributed systems, ensuring data sync, offline support, and network resilience.
• Maintain code quality, testing, documentation, and drive CI/CD and release processes.
• Collaborate with backend, infrastructure, and product teams, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• 5–6+ years as a Senior or Lead Android Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin, Android SDK, and modern architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture).
• Deep understanding of Android performance optimization, lifecycle management, and asynchronous programming (Coroutines, Flow).
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs, using Room/SQLite for persistence, and implementing mobile security best practices.
• Proven ability to work in Agile teams and influence technical direction.
