Lead Data Architect – Data Lakehouse Solutions

About the role

OBSS is seeking a Lead Data Architect to design and implement end‑to‑end Data Lakehouse solutions using open‑source technologies. The role combines technical leadership with hands‑on architecture design for large‑scale data platforms supporting analytics, AI/ML, and modern data workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and full implementation of open‑source Data Lakehouse projects, collaborating with senior management and cross‑functional teams.
• Design scalable ingestion, processing, transformation, storage, and analytics layers using technologies such as Apache Iceberg, Flink, Kafka, Spark, Airbyte, dbt, MinIO and Debezium.
• Establish data governance policies, ensuring data quality, security, compliance, and lifecycle management.
• Evaluate, select, and integrate open‑source tools, monitor platform performance, and resolve architectural challenges.
• Communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders, provide progress updates, and foster a collaborative project environment.

Required profile

• 9–10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering or large‑scale data platform modernization.
• Proven hands‑on delivery of at least one complete Data Lakehouse project using open‑source technologies.
• Strong understanding of distributed data processing, batch and real‑time pipelines, and change‑data‑capture (CDC).
• Excellent technical leadership, communication and project management abilities.
• Advanced English proficiency and willingness to travel to Ankara regularly.
