Lead Secondary Engineer

About the role

The Lead Secondary Engineer is responsible for guaranteeing the performance, budget, schedule and quality of high‑voltage substation design projects, while ensuring ease of installation, operation and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and integration of control, protection, electrical distribution, telecom and monitoring systems for high‑voltage substations.
• Produce single‑line diagrams, schematic diagrams, protection schemes, auxiliary services designs, interlocking and communication/network layouts.
• Coordinate design reviews, gate reviews and KPI tracking, ensuring compliance with industry standards, GE policies and quality procedures.
• Support procurement, manage engineering subcontractors, and oversee commissioning and testing of low‑voltage systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in the energy sector (HV substations, oil & gas) and at least 5 years in EPC project environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Turkish; ability to travel up to 20 % within MEA, Europe and other regions.
• Willingness to reside in Ankara.
