Legal Counsel

About the role

Çolakoğlu Group, a Turkish industrial company founded more than half a century ago, is looking for a Legal Counsel. The role covers contract work, corporate governance, compliance and litigation support, working closely with internal departments and external law firms.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts related to the company's field of activity
• Provide legal advice and handle correspondence for internal departments on their operational workflows
• Prepare General Assembly and Board of Directors resolutions and manage related corporate processes
• Monitor legislative changes and judicial precedents and inform the relevant departments
• Deliver legal training presentations to company departments
• Manage and coordinate all stages of litigation with external law firms, prepare litigation reports and presentations
• Ensure company practices comply with regulations and run compliance programmes, including Personal Data Protection (KVKK/GDPR) and Competition Law
• Identify risks and ensure effective monitoring of control points

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognised university; an LL.M. is preferred
• 2 to 5 years of professional experience in a similar role
• Experience in litigation and enforcement proceedings, able to manage and monitor related legal processes
• Hands-on experience and sound knowledge of KVKK/GDPR and Competition Law
• Practical experience in international trade law, import and export contracts, and a good understanding of Incoterms® 2020 and international delivery terms
