Legal Manager – Renewable Energy

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Legal Manager to lead the legal function for our growing renewable energy portfolio. The role will support all phases of project development, from permitting and construction to financing, acquisition, and operation, ensuring compliance and effective risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage complex commercial agreements such as PPAs, JVAs, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, equipment supply contracts and share purchase agreements.
• Provide proactive legal advice throughout project development, permitting, construction, financing, acquisition and operational stages.
• Advise senior management on regulatory, licensing, environmental and compliance matters affecting renewable energy investments.
• Structure and support project finance transactions, strategic partnerships, joint ventures and cross‑border investments.
• Lead negotiations with investors, lenders, EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, developers and off‑takers.
• Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks associated with projects and transactions.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes in the energy sector and translate them into practical business guidance.
• Manage external counsel relationships and coordinate legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Required profile

• LL.B. from a reputable university; LL.M. preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of legal experience, with substantial exposure to renewable energy, infrastructure, power generation or large‑scale project development.
• Proven track record in drafting and negotiating high‑value commercial contracts in English.
• Strong understanding of energy regulations, licensing frameworks, project finance structures, construction contracts and corporate transactions.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with advanced legal drafting and negotiation skills.
• Commercially minded, analytical and solution‑oriented, able to balance legal risk with business objectives.
