Logistics Assistant Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Logistics Assistant Specialist to support our duty‑free operations at Istanbul Airport. The role will ensure smooth coordination of shipments, monitor logistics performance and work closely with internal teams and external carriers.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure efficient coordination of delivery dates and shipment processes with suppliers.
• Coordinate with Order Management, Supply Planning, Warehouse and Category on order status, logistics processes and delivery dates.
• Manage end‑to‑end logistics – air, road, sea and return shipments per Incoterms, directing carriers and relevant category teams.
• Monitor and report logistics KPIs such as lead time, freight cost, transit time and vehicle load rates.
• Manage and measure the performance of logistics service providers.
• Organise shipments and road access according to airport operator rules; run monthly freight reconciliation with Heinemann.
• Manage domestic transport, vehicle organisation and driver coordination.
• Track vehicle waiting penalties issued by the airport operator.
• Assist in tracking logistics KPIs and compile regular reports.
• Provide technical advice to supply and production teams and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding or supply‑chain support roles.
• Familiarity with shipment documentation and basic Incoterms.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially in tracking KPIs.
• Fluent English.
• Working knowledge of multimodal shipment coordination (air, road, sea).
