Logistics Manager

About the role

The Logistics Manager will lead vehicle logistics and import operations for Chery Türkiye, ensuring efficient, timely, and cost‑effective movement of vehicles from origin to the Turkish market and dealer network. This role oversees the full import chain, from customs clearance to final delivery, while maintaining compliance with Turkish regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end vehicle import process, including shipment planning, vessel arrival, customs clearance, port handling, inland transport and dealer delivery.
• Coordinate with Chery headquarters and overseas logistics teams on production schedules, shipment plans, vessel bookings and vehicle allocation.
• Prepare and monitor import and logistics plans based on sales forecasts, dealer needs and inventory targets.
• Oversee relationships with shipping lines, ports, customs brokers, freight forwarders, transport companies and storage yards.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of all import documentation, declarations, permits and certificates.
• Track shipments and provide regular updates on vessel schedules, customs status and delivery progress.
• Control port and terminal operations, vehicle unloading, storage, inspections and release procedures.
• Manage vehicle yard operations, inventory control, security and efficient movement.
• Establish and monitor logistics KPIs such as import lead time, customs clearance time, port dwell time, transportation cost and on‑time delivery rate.
• Analyze logistics costs, identify optimisation opportunities and prepare performance reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in automotive logistics, vehicle import operations or supply chain management, with proven expertise in Turkish customs and import procedures.
• Strong experience managing Ro‑Ro shipments, ports, customs brokers, inland transportation, vehicle yards and dealer distribution.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, for regular interaction with international headquarters.
