Mechanical Engineer – World Record Drone Project

About the role

OneSec is developing AI‑powered delivery drones and has built an experimental aircraft that already holds the world record for longest flight (5 h 10 min). You will lead the mechanical design effort to push that record toward six hours, working hands‑on in a fast‑moving prototype environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise the drone’s airframe, mounts, battery enclosures and propulsion interfaces in SolidWorks.
• Reduce overall weight while preserving strength, stiffness and vibration performance.
• Produce components using 3D printing, CNC machining, composites and other rapid‑prototyping methods.
• Assemble, modify and repair prototypes in the workshop.
• Conduct structural, vibration, endurance and flight tests; analyse failures and iterate designs quickly.
• Collaborate closely with electrical, propulsion and flight‑control engineers.
• Prepare the aircraft for an official world‑record flight attempt.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical field.
• Strong SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD) experience.
• Hands‑on experience designing parts that are manufactured and assembled.
• Familiarity with 3D printing and rapid‑prototyping techniques.
• Comfortable using workshop tools such as drills, Dremels, saws, adhesives and hand tools.
