Postal Specialist (Contingency) - UABOS Turkey

About the role

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey, providing program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare and recreation support under a five-year contract with three one-year options. This contingency Postal Specialist position provides exceptional customer service and handles sensitive mail matters, with a direct impact on the organisation's logistical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exemplary customer service regarding mail matters for base users.
• Manage and oversee the controlled area so that security protocols are followed.
• Ensure proper receipt, handling and delivery of mail items.
• Follow all relevant government procedures, regulations, policies, instructions, directives and plans.
• Perform mail handling tasks including collection, postmarking, processing and dispatching, with particular attention to inbound mail classification.
• Lift up to 70 lbs, sit or stand for long periods and work in normal and adverse weather.
• Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other computer programs to complete reports, tasks and communicate with customers and colleagues.

Required profile

• Turkish citizenship.
• Ability to speak, read and understand English at a minimum level 3.
• Minimum 2 years of postal experience; preferred: 3 or more years.
• Qualifications matching a Postal Specialist (Air Force Specialty Code 3F5X1) per the Postal Manual or equivalent.
• High school graduate (diploma required).
• Associate degree preferred.
• All positions require passing a medical physical and a current, favourable Turkish security background check; male candidates must have completed military service.
