Process Engineer (BIW)

About the role

CATL is seeking an experienced Process Engineer (Body-in-White) to join its Bursa facility in Turkey. The role focuses on improving dimensional quality in the welding workshop and supporting mass‑production programs.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyse and continuously improve the dimensional pass rate of BIW in the welding workshop.
• Lead comprehensive analysis of CMM measurement data and optimise measurement points.
• Review fixturing and tooling schemes, diagnose dimensional deviations and track corrective actions on the production floor.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for complex dimensional issues during mass production and implement corrective action plans.
• Interface with OEM customers on dimensional standards, resolve complaints and drive continuous improvement of the dimensional management system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Materials Science, Welding Technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of automotive welding dimensional engineering experience, including at least two full program cycles.
• Strong English communication skills for technical meetings and report writing.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work at overseas production sites when required.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of BIW welding processes and dimensional chain analysis.
• Proficiency in GD&T, RPS, PLP and related dimensional engineering tools.
• Skilled in Catia, UG or equivalent 3‑D CAD software.
• Solid understanding of CMM measurement principles, planning and data analysis.
• Experience developing CMM measurement plans and preparing dimensional analysis reports.
