Process Engineer

About the role

The Process Engineer supports manufacturing teams at the factory by eliminating losses and waste on the production line, working closely with line crews every day. The role applies focused improvement methods such as FI, AM, PM, Q and PD to safety, quality, business priorities and cost deployment, and acts as technical trainer for line teams. It is open to candidates with expertise in factory automation.

Key responsibilities

• Eliminate waste and loss using BPCD, FI, AM, PM, Q and PD tools and methodologies
• Create technical standards and run to standard (data collection, prioritisation of losses, problem solving, SMED, machine settings)
• Train line crews on technical standards and restoration of basic conditions, and spread good practice to other lines
• Provide EEM pillar input, support factory OR and DBNR improvement, and contribute to NVAA reduction
• Reduce minor stoppages, change-over times and RPM waste, and support digital projects
• Solve chronic problems, develop standards and coordinate the deployment of digital activities in the factory

Required profile

• Business acumen and understanding of the master plan, factory priorities and how manufacturing performance links to finance KPIs
• Understanding of manufacturing and packaging technology
• Ability to teach new tools and methodologies and work in semi-autonomous teams

Required skills

• Engineering: mechanical, chemical, electrical, automation and technical drawings or 3D modelling
• Analytical skills: statistics and basic coding to analyse data and find root causes
• Process design, manpower optimisation and NVAA reduction techniques
• Mastery of ICMS methods and tools, including FI, AM, PM, Q and PD
• Project management and process improvement
