Programme Associate – Regional CISPop Programme (GS-6)

About the role

The Programme Associate supports the implementation of the CISPop “Better Data for Better Policies” programme within UNFPA’s Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office in Istanbul. Reporting to the Regional Programme Specialist, the role combines programme coordination, administrative, logistical, research and operational duties.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with implementing partners, vendors and government counterparts to ensure timely delivery of outputs and financial reports.
• Monitor activity implementation, compile reports and presentations, and support programme meetings and steering committees.
• Organise travel, DSA payments and travel claims for staff, partners and consultants.
• Provide logistical support for workshops, study tours and field missions, and draft correspondence and minutes.
• Perform procurement tasks in the ERP system, support audits, and contribute to HACT assurance.
• Assist with budget preparation, quarterly expenditure tracking, and partner financial reporting.
• Maintain programme filing, e‑archiving and upload content to the EECARO microsite.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education with coursework in public administration, finance or economics; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Six years of relevant experience in programme planning, monitoring or data management in national or international organisations.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; working knowledge of Russian is desirable.
• Demonstrated integrity, commitment to UNFPA values and ability to work in diverse teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel) and basic financial software knowledge.
• Experience using ERP systems for procurement and financial processes.
