Project Assistant Manager

About the role

The Project Assistant Manager will support end‑to‑end delivery of capital projects at the Konya site, covering safety, quality, infrastructure, capacity and innovation improvements. Reporting to the Site Project Delivery Manager, you will work closely with engineering, maintenance, safety and production teams to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget and to the required standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver an agreed portfolio of projects under the guidance of the Engineering Lead.
• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor engineering projects, ensuring compliance with codes, QA/QC policies and performance standards.
• Support feasibility studies, cost estimation and timeline creation in collaboration with Quality, Safety, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Marketing, R&D and plant personnel.
• Work with internal UL Engineering teams and external partners to develop Concept, FEED and Detailed Designs, incorporating local requirements.
• Develop and execute Project Execution Plans, managing site construction, contractors and OEMs while applying Unilever Construction Safety Standards.
• Utilise design and visualisation tools such as AutoCAD to produce project documentation.
• Identify and implement non‑capital improvements to enhance line or infrastructure efficiency.
• Ensure completion of EEM, PHA, Aontu and Marlin activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field.
• 3‑5+ years of engineering experience in FMCG, manufacturing or an engineering consultancy.
• Proven experience in process control, loop tuning and PLC/HMI development.
• Hands‑on experience with machinery safety systems (e.g., Pilz, Sick).
• Project management, maintenance or continuous‑improvement experience in chemical processing environments.

Required skills

• AutoCAD for design and visualisation.
• Siemens PLC programming (Simatic Manager, TIA Portal).
• SCADA systems – WinCC, WinCC Flexible.
• Allen Bradley and Schneider PLC platforms.
• DeltaV DCS (batch processing a plus).
• Instrumentation and pneumatic system expertise.
• Safety system configuration (Pilz, Sick).
• HMI development and integration.
